PERSONAL PROTECTION / EXPLAINED

When a fake looks real,
the details matter.

AI can clone a voice, create a convincing image or impersonate a person online. Personal cyber and identity products may help in some situations. We do not currently offer personal quotes or a consumer insurance match.

01 / PAYMENT SCAMS

Someone used a cloned voice to persuade you to send money

This can be a social-engineering scam. Ask specifically whether a policy covers money you authorized yourself after deception. Identity theft protection may treat that differently from money stolen through unauthorized access. Allstate expressly distinguishes a voluntary transfer to a scammer from identity theft in its product explanation. Some personal cyber products address fraudulent transfers, but eligibility, limits and proof requirements vary.

02 / IDENTITY & ACCOUNTS

Someone opened an account or used your identity

Identity monitoring, restoration and reimbursement products exist. The questions are whether the event qualifies as identity theft, which recovery costs are eligible, whether stolen funds are included, and what records you need to provide. A monitoring subscription and an insurance policy are different products.

03 / IMAGE, VOICE & REPUTATION

A fake image, video or voice is used against you

Some personal cyber offerings provide assistance for cyberbullying, cyberstalking or extortion. Ask whether a particular policy pays for investigation, content removal, counseling, legal help or financial loss. A fake being created does not by itself guarantee an insurance claim.
